WEIL Process - Neutralization
Chemical neutralization involves adjusting the pH value by adding chemicals with an acidic or alkaline reaction. Neutralization is often carried out in combination with precipitation, flocculation and separation of heavy metals or other water constituents, such as phosphate or fluoride.
For this purpose, alkalis such as caustic soda or milk of lime and/or acids such as hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid or carbonic acid are continuously dosed into the water and mixed into a mixing tank using a static mixer in the pipework or agitator to ensure rapid and complete mixing.
